The first week was spent in Amsterdam looking for an apartment. Yeah, you heard me right. I'm moving to Amsterdam at the end of January/beginning of February for my husband's job (he's been there for the past month) and we needed a place that had the RighteousRed seal of approval. I found a GREAT one (If you're familiar with A'dam, it's on the Kaisersgracht near the Jordaan) and I'm going to have AWESOME GAMS after a few months since it is on the top floor up four flights of the steepest, scariest deathstairs you've ever seen.
I'm going to be trying to learn Dutch (I've got my Rosetta stone software right here), but OMG it is so difficult! My mouth just doesn't MAKE those sounds, haha. Fortunately, a large percentage of ppl there speak near-perfect English, so getting around is easy. The only thing that isn't is the grocery store. I'm the crazy lady who holds everything up to look inside it because she can't read the labels yet.
Then the second week was a pretty standard Thanksgiving holiday in Boston. I made SIX pies this year (I'm the designated pie queen) for 8 people. Hey, you can never have too much pie.
So that's about it. I'll try to be around as much as possible, but I'm doing a lot for my pending move.
